I decided to stay in Spain for Spring Break (which is called Semana Santa here) and beach hop. I went with my friend and we just hung out and did absolutely nothing; it was much needed after a series of midterms. The first beach we went to was Almuñecar after I had actually bought a ticket for the wrong beach, but luckily this one was only the stop after so it didn't cost much to get a new one. Warning to everyone: make sure to read the names of the stops when buying from an external bus site! It could have been worse, but thankfully I got it all figured out and had help from the bus driver!! Gotta love compassionate locals.
Everything on the beach looked like a resort! I couldn't believe it. Almuñecar is only 45 minutes to an hour outside Granada so the bus ride was really short and sweet! After hanging out on one beach we walked to the other and decided to grab some food and drinks of course. I absolutely loved the restaurant we ate at because the workers were so nice. Spain has some of the nicest people and it is always helpful when I stumble over proper conjugations. They were even attempting to speak English with us, which was very nice of them as well. The drinks were very pretty and we got complementary paella! The next day we hit Salobreña which was just as peaceful as Almuñecar. The first few days of Spring Break went smoothly and I was excited to soak in everything.
I'd rather splurge on a good meal than a nice hotel, wine than water and plane tickets than club covers. Traveling and eating are my two favorite things, so follow my journey to see where I go and eat next! I'm just living my best life.
