I just learned today that I will be in La Rioja, not Madrid, next school year and I am extremely excited to be going to "Wine Country!" It's smaller and not as touristy as I was expecting with Madrid, but that is what makes this whole experience so much more exciting. There are so many unknowns and I'm learning to love it! I will also be teaching elementary school instead of secondary school. La Rioja was on my list of places to visit and now I will be living there so I just cannot wait to leave. For those who don't know, La Rioja is the top producer of wine in Spain, hence the nickname "Wine Country." Can this post get any better? I am thrilled because I have wanted to learn more about wine since my first wine tasting in Granada. I have been looking at other blog posts about La Rioja all morning and I am so ready to finish the rest of the school year, graduate and prepare for a year in the Spanish countryside. Liz from Young Adventuress (who is a blogger I read about before going to Granada) actually lived in La Rioja and has many posts on it here!
Let the anxious waiting begin!
I'd rather splurge on a good meal than a nice hotel, wine than water and plane tickets than club covers. Traveling and eating are my two favorite things, so follow my journey to see where I go and eat next! I'm just living my best life.
